Paladin Base Damage

Paladins have the lowest base damage of any class in Orbus. This is because players are meant to be generating, using, and managing pips as the main part of their game play.

  • Every hit used (even base damage ones), help you charge your super.

Paladin Pips

What are Pips? And what does "energy generation" mean?


Paladin pips are the orbs that fill up on the side of the players hammer.

  • They are used to:
    • Increase the damage of hammer attacks.
    • Teleport using hammer throws.
    • Heal/Attack from range (depending on talent selected).
    • Stunning targets with hammer throws.
    • Ground slams.

Energy Generation

Energy generation is how players fill up the orbs.

  • Energy is generated by:
    • Holding the hammer in the air (like Thor).
    • Being attacked and taking damage.

The Paladin Shield

Every 10-15 seconds or so (when the blue icon on your hammer is full), paladins can raise their off hand (the one without the hammer in it) into the air to give themselves invulnerability for the duration of the shield (1.5 seconds).

During that time, the paladin can soak (and redistribute) large amounts of damage.

The Paladin Super

The Paladin super is unique in that activation is a two-step process.

  1. When your super bar is full, grip (and hold) both triggers.
    * An orb will spawn on your off-hand (the one without the hammer in it).
  2. To activate the super you press the grip button of your off-hand (the same one that has the orb in it).
  3. For extra agro, you can use your right book, then activate your super for a 1-2 million heal spike.

  • Boosts Pally and all allied players in range for:
    • Strength (10% if Blessing of Encouragement talent selected).
    • Intellect (10% if Blessing of Encouragement talent selected).
  • Places the Pally slightly above all the other players on the agro table.
  • Heals the Pally.
    • Can full heal if combined with the Librum of Power.
  • Can heal others if Libram of Assistance talent is selected.
  • Can increase pip generation & damage resistance if Libram of Protection talent is selected.
  • Empowers hits.
    • If used on a direct pip hit: 1 pip = 4 pips
    • If used on a heal-book: 1 = almost full heal (from 1 hp)
    • If used on a super: 1 million to 2.5 million heal spike
  • Does an extra 5% boost if Blessing of Attack talent is selected.

Holding Agro

Paladins hold agro by redistributing damage (via pips), and by healing themselves.

  • Orbus counts heals as negative damage.
    • This is why using your super helps you hold agro.

Below is are some easy guidelines to help players hold agro in different situations.

  1. Pull right book.
  2. Pull left book.
  3. Hit with 5+ pips.
  4. Use super (or heal book) when possible.
    1. Ideally after pulling your right book to charge the super.
  5. Repeat as needed.

The right book refreshes at twice the rate of the left book.

  • You can use the extra cycle to hold agro by:
    • Empowering a pip for a burst of damage.
  1. Pull right book.
  2. Ground slam.
  3. Pull left book.
  4. Alternate direct hits (with pips) between targets.
  5. Repeat as needed.
  1. Pull right book.
  2. Ground slam.
  3. Pull middle book.
  4. Ground slam.
  5. Direct hit (with pips most important target to keep).
  6. Repeat as needed.
  1. Count to 3-6 (Mississippi's) in your head while charging 5 pips.
    1. This depends on how fast you count.
  2. Pull right book
  3. When right book is at 1/2 refreshed
  4. Pull left book
  5. Direct Hit for 5+ pips


Tank You No Support
Blessing of Attack: Increase the buff of your Libram of Power (right book) by 5%. Blessing of Encouragement: Your Libram of Blessing (left book) adds an extra 10% strength and intellect.
Libram of Protection: Your next Libram of Healing (middle book) increases your damage resistance and energy generation by 5% for 4 seconds. Libram of Assistance: Your next Libram of Healing (middle book) will now heal the most injured friendly target within 8m.
Defensive: Lay on Hands (your super) gives you a 50% armor buff for 10 seconds. Generosity: Lay on Hands (your super) can now heal other players by touching them when activating it.
  • You must place the orb completely inside the other player before clicking the grip button or this will not work.
Hammer of Retribution: Point you hammer at an enemy and pull the trigger to shoot a bolt of lightning at the target at the cost of two power charges. Hammer of Forgiveness: Point you hammer at a friendly player and pull the trigger to heal them at the cost of two power charges.
  • The health is taken from you and transferred to your target.
Plea of Protection: Once every 30 seconds, you can place your off-hand (the one with out the hammer in it) down by your side facing outwards to be granted a 25% increase to damage resistance and energy generation for 10 seconds.

KNOWN PLEA BUG: If you select this talent, occasionally Orbus will believe you have selected the other plea (a blue orb) on your hand. Making it so that you can use neither the Plea of Divinity or your Super.

(The solve for this is to either temporarily change classes or relog).

Plea of Divinty: Once every 10 minutes, you can cast Plea of Divinity on an ally (to pre-battle-rez them).
  • You cast Plea off Divinity by placing your off hand palm out away from your body (5 to 10 seconds after the golden hand on your hammer is full).
  • Your hammer must be out in order to cast Plea of Divinity (to put the orb on your hand). The orb will never spawn if your hammer is put away.
  • This will be an orb of blue-ish light; you must place the orb completely inside them and then hold the grip button (for a few seconds) or this will not work.
  • If the target dies while blessed by the Plea of Divinity (at any time, within 5 minutes of applying the rez, unless you switch zones) they will resurrect with 20% of their maximum health.
  • You can rez a non-PvP player while in PvP (yourself) with this rez. Only if you are in the same party.
  • You can rez an already dead player (who is in your party), by casting Plea on their corpse and then having them hit the "Go to Graveyard" button on their menu.

NOTE: Once the orb is on your hand you can apply it to a player anytime you wish.

KNOWN PLEA BUG: If your super & plea are on your hand at the same time. Occasionally your super will not work.

To fix this you must apply the plea to a player. (This will use up your super and rez, resetting them both).
