Potions can be brewed at the cauldron in the player house, and are made from the harvestables and fish that can be found in the overworld.
List of Potions
When brewing you will need to follow the recipes in your spellbook exactly. Mistakes will result in a Ruined Potion.

Most potions can be aged in the basement of your player house to increase their potency. If potions are left in the aging chest for too long, they spoil and turn into Overaged Potions, which have the same effect as Ruined Potions.
Spoil time can be increased with overlevel perks.
