VR Software
Out of all the VR software that you may come across online, there are a few that truly stand out from the others because of their options. The Oculus software is only natively compatible with oculus devices, which were discussed in our Hardware Section
Oculus Software
The Oculus software is only compatible with Oculus-branded devices, unlike SteamVR, which is completely open to most wired and even wireless headsets, again as discussed in Hardware. Even though I personally recommend SteamVR, you need to have the Oculus software open to run any games or see anything, for that matter. Although Oculus does provide some incredible exclusives as well as most SteamVR games, Steam has many more options, including the ability to play non-steam games through steam itself. Oculus does have it's features like oculus link, which allows you to sideload apps, and stream, etc., if you are a PCVR gamer, I recommend you use Steam over oculus
Steam and SteamVR
SteamVR is a free app inside of the Steam store. To download, head to the store page by clicking Here.
They also have a performance test if you feel the need to download and test your computer, click Here. Steam is incredible because of the near-limitless options for not only VR games, but normal, flatscreen, keyboard-and-mouse style games.
